The throughput of the system refers to the processing speed of the task, thus producing results. Ethernet is a set of technologies mainly used for LAN, where the main data unit is a frame. The throughput of Ethernet is measured by the rate at which frames are successfully delivered over the communication channel.
There are several ways to represent the Ethernet throughput. The least clear is the calculation of channel efficiency. Channel efficiency is the net bit rate of the actual communication channel (in bits/percentage (in seconds). Assume the speed of the Ethernet connection is100 Mbps. However, it can be seen that the effective transmission per second80 megabits of data. Here, the channel efficiency is80% or 0.8.
Let's assume an Ethernet with k sites, where each site has a transmission probability of p in the contention period. Let A be the probability that a radio station gets the channel. A is calculated as-
A = kp(1-p)kp
The value of A at p = 1 / reaches its maximum value. If there are infinitely many sites connected to the Ethernet, i.e., k ∈ ∞, the maximum value of A will be1 /
